Andrew P. Jackson

Although having written most of his life, Andrew only began recently to seriously consider taking on a novel. After spending long days as a Correctional Officer, writing provides him the meditative environment he likes to create in, allowing the characters that fill his head to emerge and blossom. With his first novel, The Photograph now available, he has moved on to a more familiar genre, Crime Thrillers. Working in a maximum-security prison has given him an incredible insight into the daily lives of hardened criminals and as such, is keen to finish a number of ideas currently in the works, although The Photograph will always hold a special place in his heart. He never knew where the story itself came from, nor where the characters hid before being brought to life, but will never forget the raw emotion he felt retelling their story, often trying to continue through tears spilling on to his keyboard.

“I never realized writing could be so powerful,” he once told his wife after finishing an especially moving chapter.

When not tapping away on his keyboard or spending time with his children or grandchildren, Andrew is a keen photographer, a mad Carlton supporter and is forever on the lookout for another crazy thrill ride, having conquered everything Queensland’s Gold Coast has on offer.
