Omand Original

Omand Original was started in 2008 by Scottish artist Susan Omand as a natural progression of her lifetime hobby of painting and as a way of doing something more with the original works of art she creates. As a business, Omand Original has grown in leaps and bounds and evolved in ways she never imagined at the start. This evolution continues in Susan’s partnership with DreamCage Media Group but Omand Original also continues on its own as strongly as ever, creating original artwork and graphic design for personal and commercial commissions and corporate contracts. Susan has worked with a large variety of authors, bands and organisations, producing book and album covers, promotional artwork and logos.

Original Cover Art – working from a written brief or reference photographs, Susan will create the original and unique artwork that YOU want for your cover. Working from scratch in a digital media that looks like “real” painting, she will review and rework the finished artwork until you are completely satisfied. Once you are happy with the painting, she can work with you in creating a finished cover, ready to upload (see graphic design below).

Graphic Design – If you already have artwork (whether created by Omand Original or another artist) or a photograph that you want to use, subject to copyright, Susan can bring out the best in the art, altering and recolouring if needed to create just the right effect for your cover. She will then work with you in selecting the right typeface, colour and layout for your title and name on the cover, which makes a big difference. If it is a print book, she can also help with laying out the information you want on the back cover. The final cover is provided via email in the file format and to any template specifications that you need, so all you have to do then is upload it to complement your own masterpiece.
