Jo-Anne Blanco

Jo-Anne Blanco was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to an English mother and Spanish father. Her family moved to England when she was three and then to Spain when she was 12. She was educated at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with an MA in modern languages, and at the University of Glasgow, where she was awarded an MPhil postgraduate degree in film and media studies.

Jo-Anne has spent much of her adult life travelling around the world as a teacher and tutor of English. Her lifelong passion for reading, writing and storytelling led her to embark upon her epic Fata Morgana series, about the life and adventures of Morgan le Fay. Mythology, folklore, fairy tales, science fiction, religion and philosophy are all major influences on her writing. She currently resides in the Highlands of Scotland, where the landscape is a never-ending source of inspiration.
