Hope Syndreamz

Isreba Wheeler aka Hope Syndreamz, has been writing ever since she was in elementary school, where she was proud to win several writing contests. A personal book of poems, and a few short stories later, she emerges upon the world with five children’s books teaching morals, and other fantastic lessons. For six years, Isreba held down the position of an Executive Editor, and one of the Creative Writers for an adult graphic magazine titled, “Gritz & Gravy Magazine.” When the magazine disbanded, she kidnapped one of their artists, and together they undertook unchartered territory as illustrator and storyteller.

Isreba ascended upon this new life and direction with excitement and viewed it as her next mission, which was to become a self-published author writing heavily illustrated children’s books. Although she grew up in a household with both parents, her main resource for learning was her mother, and grandmother. She has lived to mimic the life lessons taught by her mother, while in her present stage of life. She never forgot the lessons she learned from her Grandmother, “Grand,” brandishing her words onto her heart. Isreba graduated from Herzing University online with an Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing and Coding, having made the President’s and Dean’s List in her first term with a perfect 4-0 GPA, and Graduated with a GPA of 3.25. Presently, she’s enrolled in Southern New Hampshire University online for her Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing/English.

Isreba has undergone several unsuccessful corneal transplants, due to Keratoconus, and is now blind in one eye with slow deterioration in the other eye with an astigmatism of 20/200, and she’s a card-carrying member of The Lighthouse Guild, and The Commission For The Blind. Outside of her Corneal Transplants…while working as an electrician, she was involved in a serious work-related accident which called for Nine Surgeries: 5 knee surgeries, 1 back surgery, surgical DNC Scraping, followed by 1 medical compulsory hysterectomy, which enabled her to have a final 13.5 hour major back surgery leaving her with 2 metal rods and 6 metal screws fused to her spine {lumbar fusion}.

Her disabilities left her disabled for various medical reasons, and medically unemployable…that is until Reba decided not to allow her surgeried body to get the best of her…not as long as her mind was carefree and filled to the brim with imagination. Reba decided to work from home as much as possible. Hence, despite her various medical issues, she became a children’s author writing and self-publishing author with a credit of 5 children’s books under the umbrella of Dumplinz Book Publishing. She has plastered smiles on the faces of child with titles such as: “I Love My Hoodie” “Amo A Mi Hoodie” “I’m Proud Of My Dad” “The Little Wire Hanger In The Closet” and “Amir’s First Haircut.” Under the Guidance of IngramSpark, her books are internationally data-based in every bookstore around the world, as well as online in eBook format.

Isreba ->Reba, began her online educational career in order to broaden her proficiency in creative writing so as to become… in her words… ‘The first black, gay, female Dr. Seuss.’ Reba refuses to stop writing and sharing her imagination across the globe. She has dedicated her life’s mission to filling the world with poetry and creative literary contributions via the art of storytelling. Thus far, Reba has accomplished this by donating thousands of free copies of her children’s books via The ALA Annual Conference, Administration for Children’s Services in Harlem, Roatan Children’s Fund, Dominican Republic Refugee Foundation, and most recently the RSVP Cruisers’ Backpack Drive for San Juan United Way, which was supervised by The President of SJUnited Way, Mr. Gonzalez {El Presidente de Fundos Unidos}.

When Isreba was asked what inspired her to write children’s books, she stated, “Entertaining the vulnerable tiny fresh minds of our children today. Too much of life’s negativity and nonsense virtually trickles down into their bowls of cereal, forcing them to chew it up and swallow it down along with life’s innocent lessons. I wanted to bring some morals and fun back into the eyes of these children, our children. I wanted to open up their mind’s eye again and help them recapture the essence of imagination.” Isreba added, “I hope one day when I am old and grey, my children’s books will inspire a child to sit me down…make up a story off of the top of his/her head and tell me that story straight from their heart.”

Isreba Wheeler aka Hope Syndreamz was born in Harlem but raised in the Bronx. She is Juanita and Roy Wheeler’s eighth and last child, former caregiver to her mother who passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2011, and former furever pack leader to her best furry friend, ResQ, who also passed away September of 2018. She loves traveling and learning new languages.

I Love My Hoodie (Non-Fiction, Children’s)

I Love My Hoodie, the first in the series is written in both English and Spanglish. The Spanglish version, which was translated by Rosie Vigiani is AMO A MI HOODIE. It is a story that all children between five and ten years old should read as it will teaches them the importance of good behavior in a shopping environment and how that behavior can be rewarded.

Hope Syndreamz thought this was a good a time to bring I Love My Hoodie and Amo a Mi Hoodie to the forefront. With so much going on about hoodies, and crime…she thought the “hoodie” was getting a bad rep, not to mention the young people donning such attire.

She wanted the young people to take note of this popular style of clothing that does not cause possible demise, but instead acts as an item of protective clothing that can bring a smile to a person’s face, especially when it is received as a gift from someone.

“You can’t judge a book by its cover which is why, this cover is upside down, and the inside reads from right to left.”

The Little Wire Hanger in the Closet takes you on a historic journey that teaches children a little about how wire hangers evolved, as well as teaching them the value of never judging a book by its cover. However, the only resolve to feeling the warmth of acceptance, respect, freedom, and peace of mind rests solely upon his little wire shoulders.
