Joanne Van Leerdam

Joanne Van Leerdam is a poet, blogger, writer, thinker, puzzler, teacher, traveller, photographer and generally nice person. Despite having lived all her life in Australia, she has, thus, far, avoided being killed or consumed by any of the deadly wildlife or natural disasters, which is probably a good thing.
Other than Australia, Canada is her favourite place in the world.

In addition to writing powerful, thought-provoking poetry and short-but-incredibly meaningful stories, she teaches senior high school English, History and Drama/Production. She is an active member and performer in her local theatre company.

Her poetry is contemporary, sensual, moody and easy to read – and it will get you in the feelings.

A.C. Sawyer

Alan Sawyer was born in the East of England and has been writing since a young age; often poetry and short stories. Although he had many ideas and part novels completed, he never published his first complete novel until his forties. Now he is working on his third. Writing comes very naturally to him and he likes to write in different ways in various genres, however thrillers and stories that are true to life are at the heart of his writing. He likes to pen from his own experiences and include snippets from the surroundings of where he lives. Often he writes a chapter in his head whilst on long walks around the water meadows by his local town.

His first novel ‘Cloudburst’ began as a song title, advanced into music and later progressed to a whole idea as a novel, but the end product was nothing like the original intention. His second novel ‘Goodbye Sunset’ is a sequel and completes the pairing; both are available on kindle and in paperback. They are thrillers based around relationship entanglements, which keep the reader guessing till the very end. His work in progress is a part historical novel and something not attempted before, he hopes this will be completed in 2018.

He continues to write music and poetry, which is something that came before the story telling, and he hopes a poetry anthology will come together in the near future.

Jessie Kwak

Jessie Kwak is a freelance writer and novelist living in Portland, Oregon. She writes character-driven sci-fi and fantasy with a liberal dose of explosions, gunfights, gangsters, and dinner parties. (Somewhat autobiographically, Jessie’s characters tend to be fans of delicious food and spirits.) She likes to make her readers laugh.

When she’s not writing B2B marketing copy or scribbling away on her latest novel, you can find her riding her bike to the brewpub, road tripping with her husband, or sewing her own clothes. Her current white whale is tailoring the perfect three-piece suit for herself.

Tanor Costa

Born in the small state of Rhode Island, Tanor Costa lived with a fascination for good storytelling since his aunt showed him “Jurassic Park” at the young age of 3. Although it was scary the first time, he watched the movie every morning until Pre-school. Characters are the best part of a story in his opinion and when he’s not writing, he’s cheering excessively loudly for the Denver Broncos, tasting a new cigar, or enjoying the little things in life, whatever they may be; probably the company of animals though… because what’s better than that?

Jacqueline Britton

Jacqueline Britton is a graduate of Stanford University. She took an unconventional Career Path from Stanford into the world of Fashion and has excelled in many roles in the Fashion Business. Some of her favorite jobs were Designer, Fashion Executive, and Buyer.
At Stanford she excelled in creative writing and her debut novel weaves the life of a textile designer through love, a tragic accident and an unexpected outcome. Her Psychology degree helps her touch on the mystery of special connections between people. Being a “visual” person, she created the “scenes” of her story in her mind then translated them to words. Her style of writing will be the perfect transition to the big screen.
Jacqueline now resides in Las Vegas, NV and when she’s not writing, she works as a Men’s Fashion Buyer for high profile boutiques in Casinos and airports. She spends her free time, playing semi-professional poker, creating her own fashion, savoring the Vegas life style, and enjoying the company of her husband and pets.

Scenes from her next book, Personal Injury, are already playing in her mind, so stay tuned!

R.S. Dabney

R. S. Dabney’s passion for reading, writing, and exploring thrilling stories about unlikely heroes conquering evil started at a young age, culminating in the completion of her first two novels, The Soul Mender, book one in The Soul Mender Trilogy, and The Peace Keeper, book two. Her favorite books span every genre and she likes to describe her own work as having something for everyone—a sprinkle of suspense, a dash of adventure, and a whole lot of good versus evil.
R. S. grew up running around the red rocks and ravines in the deserts of southern Utah, building forts, fighting battles, and living the lives of all the characters she and her friends created. An avid lover of all things nature and the outdoors, R. S. attended Texas A&M University where she majored in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and minored in Park and Natural Resource Management. She worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for three years before leaving to pursue her dream of writing a novel.
She currently lives in the Big Bend region of Texas with her husband, two dogs, and cat. When she isn’t lost in another dimension creating havoc for her characters and stories, she enjoys mountain biking, exploring the desert, and eating way too much Mexican food.

Keith Hirshland

Keith Hirshland is the son of local broadcast television pioneers and a four-decades veteran of the television industry. Adrian Russell

Adrian Russell came to novel writing later in life. He began writing the first few words of his debut novel when he was in his late forties, but it was only when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 that he got serious about writing. His debut novel Nothing Left But fear was mostly written whilst he was going through chemotherapy treatment.
Writing for Adrian was a great distract for him and helped to take his mind off the fearful thoughts that are experienced whilst going through this disease. Adrian’s writing technique leaves the reader in suspense at the end of many of his chapters, as many finish on a cliff-hanger. He recalls reading Dan Browns novel The Da Vinci Code for the first time, who also uses this same technique to keep the reader hooked throughout his book too.

Adrian lives in Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest and close to the beaches of Bournemouth. He lives with his lovely wife Jo and their dog Missie and cat Lilly. Although, you’ll not always find him there, as he and his wife love to spend time in far flung places like Barbados or Greece. You’ll find him tapping away on his iPad working on his next novel on the beach, in between windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling or scuba diving.

Adrian has a real love of animals and of horses, having been to Africa on a number of occasions. One time he experienced a horse-back safari with his daughter, exploring the plains of Africa and galloping alongside giraffe and wildebeest. His fascination with animals also extends below the surface, where he loves to explore the ocean depths. He particularly loves to see sharks, dolphins and turtles, but he also has an affinity with seahorses and other small critters that live in the sea.

Doug Stanfield

Doug Stanfield, writing poetry and fiction under the name “Hemmingplay,” is the youngest son of a teacher and a nurse who grew up on a family farm in western Ohio. He had a few disreputable occupations, including newspaper reporter and editor, and public relations flak, but is trying to make amends.

His desire to write fiction and poetry never really went away. When the kids were safely off making their own mistakes, he turned on the computer, stared at the screen for a long time, and began again.

Sharon Hannaford

Sharon has been calling herself a writer since she was 8 yrs old. She wrote her first auto-biography at age 10. As a teenager, she was teased about being a witch, because she wore lots of black and walked around with a black cat sitting on her shoulder. She never disagreed too loudly as she found it amusing to keep everyone guessing.
Born and raised in South Africa she has called New Zealand home since 2008. Her life consists largely of looking after her husband, two kids, three cats, a dog, a pony and a horse, but her spare time goes into writing, reading, riding horses and quaffing good red wine.
Though she has had many jobs over the years, her favourite is, without doubt, being paid to write about the characters who take up residence in her head. She also loves animals of all shapes and sizes. She has owned cats, dogs, mice, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, horses, miniature horses, pigs, cows and sheep. Having spent her teens working on farms and at petting zoos, she has handled everything from porcupines and warthogs, to ferrets and hedgehogs. She has hand-raised kittens, lambs and an eagle owl. If she ever gives up writing she’ll probably open her own menagerie.
